LIVE NOW: The Legend of Vox Machina Animated Special Kickstarter Campaign!

HAPPY ANIMATED SPECIAL KICKSTARTER LAUNCH DAY!
Critical Role Land is just beaming with love and excitement as we launch our crowdfunding campaign for The Legend of Vox Machina, our very first animated special! With your help, we’ll be able to create the cartoon of our dreams.
Our $750,000 goal will allow us to make a 22-minute animated special, which will detail events that took place before we started streaming our home game. In this brand new story, Vox Machina — our favorite group of adventurers in Tal’Dorei — are right around level 7 (so, before the live stream but after our comic book series, Vox Machina Origins, which tells the earliest stories of Vox Machina). If we happen to raise additional funds, we’ll unlock some cool stretch goals (and, the best part: more animation minutes!).
Ideally, we’d love to make an entire animated series, and this is the very first step towards making the cartoon magic a reality.
CREATIVE TEAM
We have built a powerhouse team to help us bring The Legend of Vox Machina to life. We’re working with the best partners in the industry to make sure that we remain true to our beloved characters and storylines.
WRITING TEAM
A brand new story was crafted by the cast of Critical Role and scripted by our good friend and mega-talented TV writer, Jennifer Muro (Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, Spider-Man, Justice League: Action). Jennifer is a total badass and we’re so thrilled that she’s a part of our creative team.
ANIMATION TEAM
Our animation partner for this project is Titmouse, who has visualized incredible stories like Big Mouth, The Venture Bros., Metalocalypse, Niko and the Sword of Light and Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures. As Titmouse has proven again and again, they pride themselves on top notch quality and attention to detail, ensuring this story will be told with visceral, action-packed visuals.
VOICEOVER
The voice acting for The Legend of Vox Machina will (of course) be provided by the cast of Critical Role, who bring decades of experience to the table. You’ve no doubt heard their voices in some of your favorite cartoons — Teen Titans Go!, Ben 10, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Z, Sofia the First, Avengers Assemble, DuckTales, Transformers, and many, many more. And to round out the main cast, we’ll bring in some extra special celebrity cameos, as well as voice over industry legends.
CAMPAIGN TIMELINE
Our campaign is live RIGHT NOW and will run for 45 days, ending at 11:59 Pacific on Thursday, April 18th.
As a backer, you can expect regular updates from our team including behind-the-scenes first looks at the animation process, voice-over sessions, and other cool updates we’ll provide along the way. YOU play a critical role as part of our team (yes, we went there), and we can’t wait for you to take this amazing creative journey with us!
REWARDS
Our rewards were created as extra-special, Kickstarter-exclusive thank you gifts for supporting our campaign. We’re excited to offer our campaign backers some pretty sweet gifts like our Trinket plushie (finally!), a custom The Legend of Vox Machina dice set, a collectible Vox Machina lapel pin set. And, that’s not all — we’re also opening up invitations to our red carpet premiere screening event and even a tour of the Titmouse studio here in Los Angeles.
The reward system a little different from a product-based campaign (like a cool new board game or a fancy new gadget), because the product that you’re helping us create IS our Vox Machina animated special. We wanted to make sure that we were able to throw as much of the funds raised directly into our animated special so that we can deliver THE BEST cartoon possible.
STRETCH GOALS
We wouldn’t be Critical Role if we didn’t offer you a chance to join us for a few brand-new Vox Machina one-shots. If we hit our stretch goals, we’ll go find Bob (aka The Search for Grog epilogue), take a summer vacation at Dalen’s Closet, and… Vox Machina x Mighty Nein (sounds mysterious, doesn’t it? We’re keeping you in suspense for this one). These special one-shots will be unlocked for the entire community as a thank you for all of your support — backers and non-backers alike.
Every time we hit a new stretch goal, we’ll reveal the next stretch goal until we achieve world domination. Bwa-ha-ha-ha! Or, really… we fund an ultra-extended version of the animated special!

It’s hard to believe we started this adventure together almost five years ago and all of the love that you have shared with us has allowed us to make our dreams come true, time after time.
